WEAR A MASK
All visitors aged 2 and above must wear a mask (face shields alone are not sufficient). If you or your child are unable to wear a mask, we regret that due to concern for the safety of our staff and other visitors we cannot accommodate you at this time. We encourage you to check out our At Home with SICM page to experience our Children’s Museum fun at home. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Children’s Museum when these precautions are no longer necessary.
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
Families are asked to stay 6 feet apart from one another and give each other space. Help us reduce crowds in exhibits by leaving bulky bags or other items at home. Due to social distancing measures, there will be limited access to elevators so we encourage you to leave your strollers at home. Please respect the occupancy limits posted in each exhibit space, bathroom and elevator.
BE CAREFUL
Throwing, running, and climbing are fun for playgrounds but not for inside the Children’s Museum. Also be sure to stay with your children to ensure they are playing safely.
BE KIND
Museum staff members may ask you or your child to adjust your mask, distance from others, or wait your turn for an exhibit or program. Be kind to them – it’s the Staten Island way! If you see another family that is not following the rules, do not approach them. Ask one of our Children’s Museum staff members to help.
BE A HELPER
After playing, please put things back. It’s nice to help out so others can enjoy playing here too.
BE MINDFUL
Just like the removable parts of our exhibits, things can wander away. Please keep an eye on your belongings. The Children’s Museum is not responsible for your personal property.
ENJOY SNACKS OUTSIDE
Our On Your Mark Cafe and vending machines are closed. Eating and drinking are not allowed in our exhibits. Visitors are welcome to take breaks and have snacks and meals on picnic tables outside.
KEEP THE AIR CLEAN
Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the Children’s Museum or on the part grounds.
